\u201cFue una excelente experiencia profesional\u201d se\u00f1al\u00f3 el Mayor (OSS) Eduardo Bustamante Salazar, m\u00e9dico internista del Hospital Militar de Santiago (HMS), quien particip\u00f3 en la nueva versi\u00f3n del ejercicio combinado y conjunto \u201cEstrella Austral\u201d, en el marco de un acuerdo suscrito entre las Fuerzas Armadas de Chile y EE.UU.<\/p>

El prop\u00f3sito del Mayor Bustamante, quien lleva 3 a\u00f1os en el HMS y 12 en el Ej\u00e9rcito como Oficial de Sanidad (OSS), fue brindar apoyo m\u00e9dico en el ejercicio internacional, a trav\u00e9s del establecimiento y definici\u00f3n de los escalones sanitarios de evacuaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como la atenci\u00f3n de heridos, en el marco de la actividad y de casos reales, por lo que se realizaron atenciones m\u00e9dicas de rutina y de conveniencia.<\/p>

Este ejercicio, que se desarroll\u00f3 entre las regiones de Antofagasta y Magallanes es el m\u00e1s grande de Latinoam\u00e9rica y participaron efectivos de las Fuerzas Armadas de Chile, Estados Unidos y Espa\u00f1a. Re\u00fane a operadores de Fuerzas Especiales (FF.EE.) de distintas ramas de estas FAs, quienes durante 18 d\u00edas, abarcaron un \u00e1rea de operaciones de 3.700 kil\u00f3metros, cubriendo casi la totalidad del territorio nacional.<\/p>

\u201cEso entrega un nivel profesional alt\u00edsimo, por la calidad de nuestras FF.EE. y por su esp\u00edritu natural de competitividad. Adem\u00e1s, por nuestra parte, la sanidad opera permanentemente en el m\u00e1s alto nivel profesional, debido a que, independiente que se enmarca en un ejercicio, estamos preparados para actuar con pacientes reales y eso nos permite m\u00e1rgenes para ejercitar\u201d se\u00f1ala el Mayor, dependiente del Departamento de Medicina.<\/p>

Para el oficial de sanidad, es necesario el entrenamiento en condiciones adversas, como una situaci\u00f3n de guerra simulada, con los recursos disponibles actuales, tanto f\u00edsicos, como humanos. \u201cEsto nos hace estar preparados para distintos escenarios y responder a las necesidades de la ciudadan\u00eda, en tiempos en que la sanidad de todas las Fuerzas Armadas han desempe\u00f1ado roles fundamentales en situaciones de cat\u00e1strofe, que lamentablemente han sido m\u00e1s frecuente en la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada\u201d agrega.<\/p>

En este contexto, fue necesaria la coordinaci\u00f3n entre los efectivos militares de los tres pa\u00edses, los que a trav\u00e9s de un lenguaje universal y estandarizado, lograron la capacidad de respuesta eficiente, desde los equipos de sanidad, en los que sus operadores cumplen su funci\u00f3n, independientemente de conocer o no a la persona que trabaja a su lado.<\/p>

El Mayor Bustamante estuvo encuadrado en el Lugar de Estabilizaci\u00f3n y Atenci\u00f3n M\u00f3vil (LEAM), con una dotaci\u00f3n de 9 operadores, que incluyeron; 1 oficial de sanidad, 1 enfermera de guerra, 1 comandante de unidad, 4 enfermeros militares de combate, 1 operador log\u00edstico de transporte y 1 enfermero veterinario, todos funcionarios del Ej\u00e9rcito de Chile. Adicionalmente, coordinados con los enfermeros de combate de la Armada de Chile y efectivos de las FAs espa\u00f1olas, que actuaron como operadores de sanidad de primera l\u00ednea en el ejercicio.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
